Art of Being Facilitator Toni Collie Perry

Reposted for Toni Collie Perry: Below is the information about the Art of Being 10 week workshop that I recently attended at the Wellspring Women's Center in Sacramento.
Missy Kinder is an artist with over 30 years experience coordinating art programs and curating exhibits for the State of California and in community settings, including seven years designing and facilitating art classes for teens experiencing homelessness at Wind Youth Services. She is thrilled to be part of the Wellspring team and look forward to sharing the joy of creative expression with the incredible women who walk through the open doors of Wellspring.
The Art of Being
Wellness Through Creativity
We at Wellspring Women’s Center are pleased to announce our newest program, “Art of Being.”  This program will include expressive therapy sessions, crafting classes, and art workshops, offering women many rich opportunities to express themselves creatively. Any woman in the community is welcome to participate, and all activities and materials are provided at no cost. Read on for more information about this exciting new program.
Expressive Therapy
Creative expression is a powerful tool to cultivate the positive qualities of mindfulness and insight. Being present in our lives can help us to tap into our inner strength and wisdom and increase our feelings of well-being and joy.
In this unique 10-week program, we explore our creativity using a combination of activities such as art, poetry, dance, music, journaling, and more. Using a different area of focus each week, we will work to discover imaginative ways of expressing our thoughts and emotions. Sessions will be team-taught by a licensed clinical social worker, an MSW intern, and an artist and will be limited to 16 participants. Open to all women, and art experience is not necessary.
